Education, for us, is not a destination but a journey of discovery, of exploration, of introspection, of interrogation –

"Education is a shared commitment between dedicated teachers, motivated students and enthusiastic parents with high expectations" Today, the role of a school is not only to pursue academic excellence but also to motivate and empower its students to be lifelong learners, critical thinkers, and productive members of an ever-changing global society. More than a decade back Saffron pledged to transform education. The school that is being run under the aegis of well established Management “Saffron Educational Trust” has earned its own niche not only in Phagwara but across the globe. At Saffron we provide an atmosphere to our students for multifaceted development, where children are encouraged to channelize their potential in the pursuit of excellence.
This can only be possible in a holistic, student-centric environment. The talents, skills, and abilities of each student need to be identified, nurtured, and encouraged so that he / she is able to reach greater heights.

In accordance with the National Policy of Education (1986), Government of India started Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs). Presently, the JNVs are spread in 27 States and 7 Union Territories. These are co-educational residential schools fully financed and administered by Government of India through an autonomous organisation, Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti.
Admission in JNVs are made through the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST) at Class VI. The medium of instruction in JNVs is the mother tongue or regional language up to class VIII and English thereafter for Maths and Science and Hindi for Social Science. Students of the JNVs appear for X and XII Class examinations of the Central Board of Secondary Education.
While education in the schools is free including boarding, lodging, uniforms and textbooks, a nominal fee of Rs. 200/- per month will have to be collected from the children from IX to XII Class.

Admission to Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya are made through national level competitive examination conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education and the children are admitted at class VI level. Children are also being admitted against the vacant seats in class IX and in class XI also through regional level examination/marks in the previous qualifying examination.
A total of 75% of seats are reserved for rural children and a minimum of 33% of seats are reserved for girls. SC/STs also have due reservations of 15% x7½% respectively.
The test, called the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST) is of nonverbal nature, class neutral and so designed as to ensure that talented children from the rural areas of Yamunanagar district are able to compete without facing any disadvantages and also to ensure that children from far flung rural areas get admission forms free of cost without any problem.

Uniform System of Assessment, Examination and Report Card for classes VI-IX from Academic Year 2017-18 onwards.
As you are aware, the CBSE has issued Circular No. Acad-05/2017 dated 31.01.2017 on the restoration of Board Examination for class X and revised assessment structure and examination for class X from Academic Year 2017-18 onwards. This new scheme will bring the uniformity in the system of assessment and examination for classes IX and X in all the CBSE affiliated schools. To increase the confidence in the students to start preparing for class X Board examination when they join the upper primary stage in class VI, the CBSE has decided to implement the uniform system of assessment, examination pattern and issue of report cards for classes VI to VIII also on the similar pattern.

Navodaya Vidyalaya System is a unique experiment unparalleled in the annals of school education in India and elsewhere. Its significance lies in the selection of talented rural children as the target group and the attempt to provide them with quality education comparable to the best in a residential school system. Such children are found in all sections of society, and in all areas including the most backward.
But, so far, good quality education has been available only to well-to-do sections of society, and the poor have been left out. It was felt that children with special talent or aptitude should be provided opportunities to proceed at a faster pace, by making good quality education available to them, irrespective of their capacity to pay for it.These talented children otherwise would have been deprived of quality modern education traditionally available only in the urban areas.
